The UCI NICU

The Best of the Best

Have you ever been frightened 24/7 for over 2 months? We have. It’s life altering. Being in the NICU for 80 days was a bittersweet experience. Two years have past and the memory is still very frightening. Our son is very healthy and has met all of the developmental milestones. He has made great progress. This gives us peace of mind now as we look forward to Max’s long, healthy life.
Everyone in the NICU was thoughtful, supportive, caring and very, very good at what they do - They save the lives of the tiniest children. From the Doctors and Nurses to the RTs, everyone had a gentle touch with our Max and the others around him.

The Doctors were essential and we are very thankful for them. Although the Doctors were key, we feel that the nurses are the ones that got us through the experience. The nurses are the ones that spend 12 hours a day on their feet, tending and caring for the little preemies. We were very lucky to be at UCI.
